Rev. Doug Banks was born in the great city of Detroit, Michigan & graduated from Cass Technical High School.
At the age of 14, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized into the faith.
He served in the United States Army and was decorated for service in Operation Desert Storm. Rev. Banks has one daughter, Danielle Bonaparte
Also in 2005, he completed his undergraduate degree. Graduating with honors & receiving a B.S. in Respiratory Therapy from Siena Heights University.
Rev. Banks received a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in Church History from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. There he also served as a chairperson for the Garrett-Evangelical Black Seminarians Student organization & assistant to the Dean of Chapels.
In 2010 Rev. Banks was ordained an Itinerate Elder in the AME Church by Bishop John R. Bryant at the Michigan Annual Conference.
Pastor Banks is married to the Rev Tammy Harris-Banks the current pastor of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Detroit Mi.
Rev. Banks has previously served as the pastor of Hyde Park AME Chicago, Bethel AME Lafayette In, St. Andrew AME Detroit Mi, Mt. Zion AME Church of Battle Creek, MI. And currently serves as pastor of the great Vernon Chapel AME Church of Flint, Mi.
Rev. Banks loves the LORD and His people
Rev. Roosevelt Brown the youngest of fourteen children was born in Prescott, Arkansas in 1945 to the late Will and Laura Brown. He moved to Flint, Michigan in 1955 with his parents and joined Vernon Chapel AME Church and in 1966 he married Birdie Brown to whom two sons and twin daughters were born.
Rev. Brown was educated in the Flint Public School System. He went to Mott Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree in General Studies, and is a retired Master Journeyman Electrician who worked for General Motors for 30 years. Also Rev. Brown graduated from Agape Faith fellowship Bible School. But, most of all he is a man after Gods own heart.
He was ordained a Local Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church on April 18, 2001. His dream is to see the Church answer Jesus prayer in John 17:11 that said, “that they may be one as we are one.” At the present time Rev. Brown is associate minister under the pastor of Vernon Chapel AME Church, in charge of Class Leaders Ministry, and teacher of Men’s Bible Study every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. His motto is “when we know better we will do better.”
His favorite scripture is II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if and man be in Christ, he is new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
